How does Cloud hosting work?
Cloud is just another fancy term for clustering. It has been around for sometime but has taken off in the last 7 years. A typical Cloud will consists of physical machines (Hypervisors) which will have lots of processing and memory power to be able to host cloud servers. In order for the failover of cloud servers to work you add a shared storage such as a SAN or NAS. Every component in the Cloud is made redundant so there are no single point of failure.
Ordering Cloud Server
Once you have ordered a Cloud server you will be provided with your own control panel (vCloud Director). This Cloud control panel will enable you to manage your Cloud environment. You can power cycle your Cloud server or attach ISO to install any other packages or OS. If you have more than single virtual machine it will also be added to this control panel.
At LuxonHost we provide you with a personal level of support and take care of the underlying cloud platform. If your virtual server has any problem with OS we will be happy to take a look and resolve it or offer a re-install for free. Our Cloud engineers are VMware VCP certified and has at least 5 years of industry experience. So you are in safe hands.
Our email support is available 9am – 5:30pm Monday to Friday GMT UK Time. For any critical issues such as server being offline you can get 24/7 phone support. As you will be given a full featured Cloud control panel you will never need to be in this situation.

Your server will come with a public network connection and 1 public IP to get out to the Internet. The public IP is NAT’ed on the cloud firewall. i.e. 212.78.92.22 (public IP) is NAT’ed to 10.0.210.22 (Internal). So if you have another cloud server running database and it can have 10.0.210.23 IP and connect securely in your private network. You can add up to 254 cloud servers in your cloud private network.

You can import OVF template using our control panel (vCloud Director).
If your previous host is running VMWare we will be able to use those VMDK files to recreate your virtual server.
We can convert any physical server to virtual cloud server. Speak to us with your requirement.
If your current cloud server has cPanel or Plesk it can easily be migrated to our Cloud server running similar control panel.
We offer Image or file level back up for our cloud servers. With cloud image backups we take live copy of your server using Veeam technology. If you require file level backup we can use Veeam or R1 Soft. All backups are kept for a retention period of 14 days with 1 full commit. 
- Daily file level backup to an off-site storage via VPN
- Image backup of entire server so it can be used for full restore.
We recommend you take Image level backup as it will retain all OS files and configurations and much faster to restore. Typical cloud server with 100GB of disk space can be restored in less than 1 hour and back in production using our cloud backup system.
